If you read our regular news updates, you will know that we’ve got used to seeing all sorts of different causes of disruption to drainage systems. Most recently, we had another reminder of the force of nature.
Drain invasion
As Autumn arrives the number of calls from clients increases because the colder, wetter weather exposes the weaknesses in their drainage system. Over the drier summer months, it’s easy to forget about drain maintenance but when you notice slower flows and standing water, it’s time to get on top of your drainage issues.
That’s exactly what one of our clients did recently. When water was not draining away properly, they asked us to investigate. Our qualified engineer found a root mass had broken through the pipework and now lay lodged there. Immediate action was needed to stop the root mass from causing further damage and to resolve the drainage issue.
Fixed the same day
Whenever we receive a call we despatch our own engineers to investigate. In this instance we used our specialist CCTV equipment to take a closer look at the drain and make a quick assessment. It didn’t take us long in this case to see the extent of the damage caused by the roots.
We have several ways in which we can repair a drain and, because of the detailed information provided by the CCTV footage, we quickly determine the best approach. For this client we were able to complete an excavation of the pipework and install a replacement section, all on the same day. We also completed further preventative measures around the pipework to prevent it from breaking again.
You may be surprised how quickly we can fix your broken drainage, and with minimal disruption, so don’t be put off taking action sooner rather than later to help prevent a bigger problem building up.
