No two days are ever the same at Drain and Sewer Services. Because of the range of equipment and the skilled, experienced team we have, we get to work in all sorts of places.

Clearing a lock

We recently were asked to help clear a lock, which has almost two feet of silt across its entire base, which was blocking the movement of the outward flow gate.

The team cleaning the lock worked their magic so that when the job was done, the lock was returned to full working order, meaning our client could recommission its use.

After the job was done, our client commented: “This site is a SSSI (site of special scientific interest) and we love the fact that you are using the canal water to clean with as this means we aren’t introducing an outside source”

As with our work on the lock, we are always very aware and sensitive to the environment we work in. Our work should restore and enhance the area and our range of equipment means we always have the right tool to do the job properly, whilst caring for our surroundings.

We have the right tools for the job

We’ve always invested in our own equipment, most recently welcoming Minibee to the fleet. It’s this range of lorry-mounted combination units that give us the versatility to tackle so many jobs.

With both suction and jetting capabilities, these trucks can empty tanks and remove flood water, whilst the jetting functions not only clean but also break up hardened materials. This combination of functions means our lorries can:

  • Clean pump stations and septic tanks
  • Empty road gullies and catchment pits
  • Clean culverts and storm systems
  • Clean silt and grease traps
  • Empty and clean oil water interceptors
