When we sent in our CCTV equipment to assess one of our client’s drains, we were not expecting to find a small, furry animal running up the pipes, glaring at our camera!

A warming Christmas tale of the rat in the pipe!

Here at Drain and Sewers we find all kinds of unusual items blocking our client’s pipes  and usually any animal we find is not of the live variety! So we were very surprised when viewing our video footage (see video below) to discover a very much alive furry critter staring back at us!

Our sophisticated, lightweight CCTV equipment allows us to carry out detailed observations on all sizes of pipes from the smallest to the largest diameter at a high resolution. We can then look at the results on screen in real time and produce DVD evidence, written reports and mapping for clients.

The rat in question, wasn’t actually causing any blockages, but was using the cracks in the pipes to make its way in. Using our lightweight portable CCTV cameras we were able to survey the drain to identify the cracks and fix them, ensuring no more rats were able to make their way in.

Our CCTV equipment allows us to carry out detailed observations on all pipes – including ducting, drainage systems, non-man entry chambers, voids and gaps. Whether it is for a large housing estate or a private property, our customers have been using our services and equipment to help solve their problems.
